That scene with Rus and Maggie gets me every time WOW. Mathew McConaughy is so damn hot, always has been, always will be. I’ve literally watched every movie he’s ever been in. I remember when they were showing previews when this was about to come out on HBO. This will be my 4th time watching season one. Woody and Mathew were so good together on screen and seasons 2 & 3 weren’t even close to how amazing this first season was. I knew when I finished watching it that if they had more seasons with new actors and new plots that they would most likely not even come close to how awesome this season was, and I was right. I thought seasons 2 & 3 were so slow and very boring!!! I also didn’t care for the actors too much. I normally like Steven Dorff, because I’ve seen quite a few movies with him in it, and he’s talented. But in True Detective his character couldn’t have been more boring (same with his partner in season 3, he was even more boring). I hope if they come out with a season 4 it’s halfway decent at least!
